Conventional sintered magnets are brittle, have limited dimensional accuracy, are difficult to machine, and are hard to produce in complex, short or thin shapes. Although magnetic plastics have lower magnetic performance than sintered magnets, they offer the following advantages:
- Lower density.
- Good toughness and impact resistance; not brittle.
- Can be formed by plastic injection molding, compression molding, extrusion and other methods into thin-walled, complex plastic magnet parts.
- High part precision; plastic magnets can also be post-processed by drilling, cutting, embossing, welding, etc.
