Polypropylene (PP) is lightweight, chemically resistant and cost-effective, making it a common material for baby products and household goods. However, PP has relatively high shrinkage: as wall thickness increases, parts are prone to sink marks and warpage. When mineral fillers are added to raise rigidity, strength and toughness often drop sharply, leaving parts "hard but brittle" with a severe loss of performance.
D AE0004 is Xresin's own dedicated custom grade, a polypropylene resin. It effectively reduces PP shrinkage, increases part strength and toughness, and addresses the severe performance loss that follows mineral filling, giving parts strength and rigidity close to ABS while retaining a degree of toughness. It is currently used mainly for parts with wall thickness above 0.8 cm, such as baby products, children's toilet seats and other thicker products.
