Melamine (melamine-formaldehyde resin) tableware looks like porcelain, is moderately priced, and is widely used for bowls, plates and trays. However, it is a thermoset material: it is generally not recommended for microwave heating, it chips and cracks easily when dropped, it requires compression molding, and scrap and used items are difficult to remelt and recycle.
D CB0003 is Xresin's own exclusive custom grade. Made of polypropylene (PP), it meets stringent EU food-grade requirements and has passed China national plastics inspection as well as relevant SGS and FDA tests. Combining a high-gloss appearance with the toughness and temperature resistance of PP, it can be processed directly on injection molding machines, giving tableware and food container brands a more durable, recyclable alternative to melamine.

With gloss 110, D CB0003 gives finished parts a bright, porcelain-like finish close to ceramic, while retaining the toughness of polypropylene — shatterproof, microwave- and sterilizing-cabinet-safe, resistant to −30℃, directly injection moldable and recyclable, making it an alternative to melamine resin.

Why replace conventional melamine with D CB0003?
- Microwave-safe:Melamine tableware is generally not recommended for microwave heating; D CB0003 is suitable for microwaves, sterilizing cabinets and steaming, so one container covers serving, heating and sterilizing.
- Shatterproof and more durable:PP has good toughness and does not shatter easily in everyday drops, reducing losses and after-sales issues caused by chipping and breakage.

How can D CB0003 replace melamine resin?
Melamine resin (melamine-formaldehyde resin), often called “imitation porcelain”, has long been used for bowls, plates, trays and children's tableware. It is a thermoset material: it is generally not recommended for microwave heating, it chips and cracks easily when dropped, it can only be compression molded, and scrap and used items are difficult to remelt and recycle.
D CB0003 achieves a similar porcelain-like high-gloss appearance, but as a polypropylene it is shatterproof, microwave- and sterilizing-cabinet-safe and suitable for steaming, can be mass-produced directly on injection molding machines, and is recyclable.
